Why Fencing?

Someone please tell me why I have to learn fencing. Even soccer would be better. Introverted Kid, though (I'm not going to reveal her name), for some reason, loves fencing.

I mean, come on! That sport is, like, dead, just like Latin. Forget it.

But for some reason, I still have to head to fencing practice in 19 minutes. Why, dad, did you sign me up?

Just why?

I'm also horrible at the sport. Everyone in my class can beat me, but my coach tells me not to be sad.

Do I look sad? I could be good it I tried, but I'm more interested in soccer, yet to learn it, my dad's got me stuck to watching youtube videos and practicing with a rubber ball.

Why can't kids make their own decisions?
